A friend of mine who is a high-level Executive with one of the largest physical therapy organizations in the country recently sent me an article that detailed the top 25 paid professions in the US.
I had mixed emotions when I read the article. First, it’s amazing that health care dominates the top of the national pay scale. I was proud that Podiatry (sitting at $148k on average) was on the list at all but a bit dismayed that we were so far down the list (18 out of 25) below many other physicians and even below some nursing specialists, engineers and IT people.
I ran some data to see where the physicians of the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute fell and was happy to find that on average, we are 50% higher. Additionally, I ran some numbers on the FABI members that work with me all year, and they’re typically double, and in some cases, 3x and 4x the national average.
That got me thinking, where do you land, and what can you do to double the national average, or even better! What about the doctors in your group; where they rank? Are you satisfied with that?
What we do is so critical to the health care system and we need to be compensated for the great patient care and work we do. That’s one of the biggest reasons I started FABI.
Well, as part of our continued commitment to improve the lives of patients and podiatrists, I’m offering something really special.
