Practice Makes Perfect!

Communicating with our patients is among the most important things we do as physicians.  We do it 20-40 times a day…..and some of you do it more than that.  We do surgery 1-10 times a week.

We spent years in residency learning and honing our surgical skills.  Some of us even did Fellowships. Many of us have done cadaver labs and other skills-based training to be better at surgery.  Yet we do very little to improve our communication skills.

Why would we not spend the time to improve the thing that really makes or breaks us as physicians based on the frequency of the interaction that can be impacted?

Take a look at this week’s video where I share a recent experience with one of my Fellows and give you some ideas on how to practice the important skill of communication.

Have a great week.

P.S. these kinds of topics and many others that make you a better physician and business owner will be covered at the FABI Annual Event in Miami, March 13 – 15, 2020.  Visit footandanklebiz.com/2020annual for more information.
