Several years ago, I was told that the most successful people create goals and then work to achieve those goals. Some goals are health-related and some goals are business-oriented. Some are charitable, while others are about spending more time with family and friends.Â
Since then, I spend time at the end of every year and plan my personal and professional goals. I plot out my goals for family time, exercise, charitable contributions, and the various businesses I am a part of.Â
If you think about it, having goals for each year is a bit arbitrary in that we decide that January 1st is the beginning of the goal-setting year. In reality, it’s just another date on the calendar.
Nevertheless, I go through this annual ritual and use January 1st as an accountable date…..and it works.
Ever since I started creating annual goals, I have been more focused on determining what matters for each of the categories I am considering. This practice forces me to be accountable to myself and the people I serve – my family, my patients, my employees, my partners and the people of FABI.
Take a look at this week’s video where I talk about how I set my goals for the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute. I hope this will inspire you to do the same.
I also hope that one of your goals for 2020 will be to attend the FABI Event, which takes place in Miami, March 13-15, 2020.

Have a great goal setting week.
