Back To Business – Training

After weeks of crisis management, including decreased patient volume, no elective surgery, reduction of employee hours, furlough’s and more, we are starting to see some loosening of restrictions in most States.  That loosening of restrictions means that patient volume is going to start to return although it will probably occur more slowly than most of us would like.

Additionally, many have received their PPP loans. Requirements are such that we have to bring back our employees close to their pre-Covid hours and shortly thereafter return them to full hours.

I’ve had many people across the country ask me, “Do I have to pay them to do nothing?”

The answer is, “yes, kind of.”

If you want forgiveness of your PPP loan, you do have to pay your employees regardless of how many patients you are seeing.  So if your volume is down and you have nothing for them to do, yes you have to pay them to do nothing.

However, there are alternatives.

You can use this time wisely.

One of the best ways to use this time effectively is to take a look at your employee training and really dedicate time to that.

In this week’s video I talk about ideas on how to start doing that effectively and ways to make it an enduring part of your business.

At the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, we have been trained during the month of April and are really ramping it up this month.

I’ve talked to some of the FABI Mastermind Members who have started doing some training as well and they are telling me how successful it’s been.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to improve your business when things are slower.  It will pay off for years to come.

Have a great week and be safe and healthy.
