Running Faster Than Your Team

I’ve never been the fastest runner.  In fact, I was made fun of during high school sports because of how slow I was.  But this isn’t about a road race.  It’s a different type of speed altogether.

I’m sure many of you are like me.  You’re hyper-focused on great patient care and running your business.  You are really excited about what you do and bring passion every day.  You work longer hours than anyone else in your organization and more than most of the people you know by being both a doctor and a business owner.  Those are two full time jobs.

Well, to accomplish all of that, we run at higher RPMs than those around us.

The people who support you, your family, your team may not be able to keep up, nor should they have to.

Many of us get so caught up with what we are doing that we don’t recognize that this can be wearing on those that are around us.

Take a look at this week’s video where I recently came to that realization.

If you’re doing the same thing, hopefully you can recognize it and make some adjustments before those around you stop trying to run with you.

Have a great week.
