Recruiting and Retaining Physicians

It’s the time of year that a lot of practices are bringing in new doctors…typically those who have just finished their residency or fellowship.

While the people entering the field today are more highly trained than those in the past, it is unlikely that they are really ready to be successful practitioners.  I see it all the time with people across the country and even in our organization.  We have a new doctor who just finished some high-level training and they have never seen an ICD10 or CPT code.  Where they trained, they had coders and billers handle it all.

Too often I hear stories of practices where the Associates leave, and the owner/physician feels like they gave a lot and didn’t get enough in return.

In today’s video, I talk about some of the things that we think about with recruitment and retention of physicians.

Don’t let unfortunate past experiences get in the way of growing your business.  Adapt and change.

Have a great week.
