As you know, we’ve been going through our EHR change over the last few weeks and will complete our 3rd full week tomorrow.
While the transition has been better than I thought, it’s still a change….and change is difficult. The change isn’t just tough on the physicians, it’s also difficult for the entire team. All the schedule changes and appointments need to be adjusted. Each patient coming in is essentially new and must go through a complete new registration process. The technology is different so things that people did for years now require a bit more thought until it becomes second nature. It’s a whole level of stress beyond the daily challenges that we all encounter in healthcare and customer service.
Put all of that on top of Covid, mask wearing, vaccine mandates and employee crisis and you’ve got a recipe for a really stressed out team.
We are all feeling it. It’s in every industry and in every community across the United States.
There’s no sure-fire way to solve all the above, however showing your team some love and appreciation will go a long way.
In the last week, Weil Foot & Ankle has done just that.
We took our Michigan team to a Barbeque followed by the West Michigan White Caps Baseball game. We took our Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin Teams to a picnic followed by the Chicago White Sox game. Hundreds of team members and their families got a chance to socialize outdoors together, enjoy food, feel the sights and sounds of a baseball game and hopefully get away from the stresses of life and their jobs for a little while. We had the opportunity to show them how much we appreciate them.
In this week’s video I show clips of our team at the White Sox game and talk about the reasons why showing appreciation to your team is so important.
How can you show appreciation for your team this week?
Have a great week.
