Getting Excited About An Accomplishment

We’ve talked a lot recently about the different struggles we are all experiencing and how to deal with them. For many of us, things are tough. I’ve been reading a lot about “burnout” and what that really means as a medical/psychological condition. This week, I had dinner with the COO of a large hospital network and he told me that his physicians are just tired and burned out.

We have seen that with a lot of our doctors and our Team that are working crazy hours keeping things afloat while we navigate the challenges of the employee crisis.

Late last week, our COO, sent a letter to the leaders of our organization thanking them for their dedication and implored them to take a step back, take some time off, and in some cases forced people to put time in on their calendars and formally submit for PTO.

With all these challenges, it’s important to find things in life to get excited about and celebrate.  They can be little things or more substantial things….but important, nonetheless.

Last Friday, I had one of those experiences. It is something that was totally unexpected, and frankly, totally shocking.

Take a look at this week’s video to see what happened.

No matter what your interests are, it’s really important to step back and get out of the grind of being a doctor and running a business.

Intentionally find some time to get away and relax.

Intentionally spend time with family and friends.

Intentionally find time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

You will thank yourself in the end and life will be better for you and those around you.

Have a great week.
