I know many of you are uncomfortable when it comes to talking to a patient about money. Many doctors avoid the conversation like the plague. Are you that person? Do you tell your patients to “speak to the billing department” about these types of questions?
Well, this weeks video talks about why you should have that conversation and why it’s better for you to have it, rather than someone else.
Money is an increasingly important decision maker for patients and you don’t want to leave it into the hands of someone less capable or less qualified than you. You wouldn’t pass the surgical consultation to your MA. So don’t pass the money conversation on to someone else.
I know it’s uncomfortable for you. However, if you work on it and embrace the need to do it, you’ll find it’s a better result for all involved.
Have a great week.
