After our really well received series on “First Impressions,” many people emailed me and asked me to do more series. So today is the first of a new series that will run in December.
This series will be “What to consider when planning for 2021”.
In the first episode of this series, I talk about creating goals for 2021.
Creating goals is paramount for success. Research has shown that when goals are set and written down, the likelihood of achieving them is much higher.
I set yearly organizational goals for Weil Foot & Ankle Institute as well as personal goals for myself, which I talk about in this video. Not only do I write down my goals, I also verbally communicate them to those around me regularly which helps to reinforce them.
When you go to set your goals, consider past performance and realistic expectations for the next year. It’s also ok to create some lofty goals to shoot for the moon. Most of your goals need to be manageable or you’ll lose the team in regular disappointment. There have been times where I’ve created goals that most say are unachievable, yet I put them out there and talk about them regularly and when we reach them and it’s a huge win.
So, take a look at this week’s video and the first in our series on planning for next year and start putting your goals in place for 2021.
Have a great week.
